Homemade face mask for dry skin. Homemade mask for dry skin

An effective means of combating dry facial skin are masks; they can be purchased at cosmetic stores and pharmacies, or you can prepare them yourself. The advantage of homemade masks is their completely natural composition.

Features of dry skin

You can visually determine dry skin:

  • there is no oily sheen, blackheads, pimples, or enlarged pores;
  • the skin is light pink, velvety, thin;
  • In the cold, areas of peeling appear and small capillaries may appear.

With a dry skin type, the first wrinkles may appear by the age of 25, and the situation worsens every year. This is due to reduced activity of the sebaceous glands and increased loss of moisture. Lack of proper care for dry facial skin leads to premature aging and the appearance of areas of severe irritation.

Dry facial skin can be congenital or acquired. In the first case, it is almost impossible to get rid of the problem; you have to resort to the help of cosmetics and sometimes medicinal drugs for the rest of your life. Various reasons contribute to the occurrence of acquired dryness; you can get rid of it by following the rules of caring for dry skin. The condition of the skin is also influenced by the choice of cosmetics - there are special series created taking into account the physiological and age-related characteristics of this skin type.

Among the many cosmetic products that effectively improve the condition of facial skin, masks stand out - they can be prepared independently from various components, the method of their preparation is simple and inexpensive.

Masks for dry skin

The purpose of the masks is to moisturize and provide nutrients to the dry epidermis, so the optimal solution is to alternate moisturizing and nourishing compositions, to which you can add tonic mixtures.

Components of moisturizing masks:

  • Cucumber– 95% consists of water, therefore it provides a good moisturizing effect.
  • Cabbage leaves– used in folk medicine as a wound healing agent; There is evidence that cabbage promotes collagen synthesis.
  • Tomato– rich in vitamins A, C, of the microelements, cobalt contains the most - 100 g of product contains 6 mcg. These components take part in cell regeneration processes. Tomato juice moisturizes and gently exfoliates the stratum corneum of the epidermis, but it cannot be used for cracked skin.
  • Flax seeds– have enveloping and softening properties, creating a protective film on the surface of the skin.
  • Kefir- has a positive effect on dry skin due to the content of lactic acid bacteria and amino acids.
  • Glycerol‒ is able to attract moisture from the air and retain it on the surface of the skin.
  • Jojoba oil– especially effective when caring for dry skin: the oil moisturizes, softens, relieves inflammation, smoothes out fine wrinkles.
  • Chamomile oil– a natural antiseptic, softens and smoothes the skin.

Nourishing masks include:

Toning masks contain the following components::

Often components from different groups are included in one mask, this achieves a complex effect on the skin.

Rules for using masks

In order for the mask to produce the expected effect, you must follow some rules:

  • The ingredients of the mask are mixed before use; Long-term storage of the mixture reduces the effectiveness of the procedure.
  • Before applying the mask, cleanse the face using products for dry skin: milk, foam, cosmetic cream.
  • The mask is applied to the skin for 15–20 minutes, avoiding the lips and areas around the eyes, then rinsed off with warm water. The face is rinsed with cool boiled water, dried with a towel or napkin, and a nourishing cream is applied.
  • After using nourishing masks, there is no need for cream, just wipe the skin with tonic.
  • It is better to apply masks in the evening to give your skin a break from makeup.
  • The frequency of use of masks is 2-3 times a week, you need to alternate different recipes for maximum effect.
  • When trying a new composition, you need to make sure that there is no allergy to the components, since dry skin has increased sensitivity. To do this, apply a small amount of the mixture to the wrist or skin behind the ear for 10–15 minutes. If after this time no itching or redness appears, then the mask can be used.
  • In summer it is necessary to give preference to moisturizing compositions, in winter – to nourishing ones.

    Homemade masks for cleansing facial skin

    A natural cleansing mask exfoliates dead cells, improves blood circulation and collagen production, removing blackheads and leaving skin looking healthy. Some masks, prepared at home using natural ingredients, start the rejuvenation process and remove fine wrinkles.

    With activated carbon

    A healing mask with gelatin and the addition of activated carbon can penetrate deeply into the skin. To prepare, you will need to dissolve 4 tablets of the drug in milk and add a tablespoon of gelatin to the resulting mixture. After a few minutes it should swell. The resulting mass should be placed in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and turned on at full power. The product is applied to the face using a special spatula and removed after a while (as soon as it begins to turn into a film).

    Herbal collection

    Medicinal herbs are excellent for cleansing facial skin. To prepare an effective remedy, you will need chamomile, mint, rose hips and several rose petals. Herbs can be taken either individually or in collections. The ingredients must be dried and thoroughly chopped in advance. Then pour 4 teaspoons of powder with a glass of boiling water and let the solution brew for 20 minutes. The infusion should be strained using gauze. For application, the remaining mixture after straining should be used, which must be carefully applied to the skin of the face and wait 15 minutes. The composition is washed off with cold water.

    Oatmeal with lemon juice

    Oatmeal is one of the foods that cannot cause allergic reactions. To prepare the mask, add lemon juice to half a glass of oatmeal flour and mix thoroughly. The resulting mass is applied to the skin for 20 minutes, after which it is washed off with cold water. To get a more noticeable result, it is advisable to carry out the procedure regularly, several times a week, depending on the type of skin. This mask is ideal for women over 30 with dry skin due to wrinkles.

    With protein and mint

    To prepare the mask, you will need to beat the egg white and oatmeal until smooth. Then add chopped mint herb to the resulting mixture. The mask is applied to the face in a medium layer, washed off after complete drying with warm water. After the procedure, it is recommended to cleanse the face with a special alcohol-free lotion.

    Moisturizing masks for dry skin

    External factors have a direct impact on the level of moisture content in the skin. Dry epidermis is often the cause of expression lines and age-related wrinkles. Facial skin care should be regular at any time of the year. A moisturizing mask will not only restore the moisture balance, but also maintain the firmness and elasticity of the dermis. But masks alone are not always enough. To ensure deep skin hydration, you need to drink enough liquid, normalize your diet and take vitamins.

    Dry skin is sensitive to various types of external influences. It has no shine, flakes off, and quickly loses elasticity, which leads to the early formation of wrinkles. Therefore, the best mask for this skin type is moisturizing and nourishing at the same time.

    Recipes for moisturizing masks are based on components that can increase blood flow, which leads to improved breathing and supply the skin with vitamins and beneficial microelements. To preserve the results of the procedure for a long time, it is recommended to do masks in several courses of 15 procedures every other day. To prevent facial skin from becoming sagging prematurely, home remedies should be used 1-2 times a week.

    Banana with cottage cheese

    For dry skin types, you need to purchase cottage cheese with a high percentage of fat content. You should not use the product in a pack, as there is a risk of rashes and acne. The best option would be natural homemade cottage cheese.

    To prepare a curd-banana mask, you need to take a medium-sized ripe fruit and mash it. Then mix the banana mixture with pre-grated cottage cheese in equal proportions. The resulting mass must be mixed with 2 tablespoons of milk. The product is applied for 20-25 minutes, after which it is washed off with cool water. It is advisable to repeat the procedure 2-3 times during the week.

    With currants

    The advantage of currants as the main component of a mask is the ability to retain its healing properties even when frozen. To prepare the mask, you need to add currant juice, mineral water and olive oil in a ratio of 4:4:1. The result should be a liquid mass, which can be poured into a bottle for convenience, since the mixture must be shaken thoroughly before application.

    The composition is kept on the skin for no more than 15 minutes, after which it is washed off with warm water. To facilitate the cleansing process, it is advisable to use a cotton pad. After the procedure, you should apply a nourishing cream to your face.

    Cucumber

    Human skin and cucumber have the same hydrogen content. Therefore, the absorption of the healing substances of the vegetable occurs almost instantly. Cucumbers are used to nourish, brighten and restore the structure of the skin, protecting it from dryness and the adverse effects of external factors.

    To prepare the mask, you need to chop the cucumber in a blender or using a grater. Then extract the vegetable juice using gauze. Add sour cream to the resulting mixture in a 1:1 ratio and mix. The composition is applied to the face and left for 20 minutes. You can wash off the mixture using herbal decoctions or cool water.

    Zucchini

    The main value of zucchini in cosmetology is the large amount of manganese included in the product, which increases microcirculation and has disinfecting properties. A zucchini-based recipe is suitable even for the most dull and dehydrated skin. You will need to grate half the vegetable and squeeze out a little juice. Add one yolk, a tablespoon of flour and one teaspoon of olive to the resulting mixture, mix with a blender. The mask is kept on the face for 10-15 minutes and washed off with warm water.

    From gray clay

    Clay provides the skin with proper care: rejuvenates, nourishes, moisturizes and tones. Therefore, gray clay masks are simply necessary for dry, flaky skin that lacks moisture. With their help, you can increase not only the firmness and elasticity of the dermis, but also the ability of cells to regenerate. After all, dead cells should be removed so that the skin becomes more tender and soft.

    To prepare the healing composition, you need to use one spoon of clay, to which you should add milk until you get a thin mixture, since too thick a product will lead to rapid hardening. The resulting mass is applied to the facial skin with massaging movements, avoiding the neck and eye area. The mask is washed off after 20 minutes with warm water.

    Nourishing mask recipes

    Environmental exposure negatively affects the condition of the skin. To maintain the epidermis in tone and give it a radiant appearance, nourishing masks are used, the correct choice of which, depending on the skin type, affects the success of the procedures.

    When the skin begins to lack vitamins, it loses its healthy appearance.

    A nourishing mask with honey for dry skin has a positive effect on the epidermis. The bee product is a strong allergen, so before using the product it is recommended to test the body's reaction on a small area of skin. Honey masks are prohibited for people suffering from diabetes and problems with blood vessels on the face.

    • Mix and beat until foamy 5 ml of olive oil, 12 g of natural buckwheat honey, one yolk, 10 g of oatmeal and 6-8 drops of lemon juice.

    • Mix a quail egg, 20 ml of milk and 12 g of wheat flour. Add 35 g of honey to the resulting mixture.

    Honey increases oxygen supply, blood flow to the skin and repairs damaged cells. As a result of regular procedure, the condition of the epidermis will noticeably improve.

    Fruit masks

    Fruit-based masks contain:

    • fruit acids that pull out impurities from deep within the pores;
    • vitamins that help nourish the skin, relieve inflammation and smooth out wrinkles;
    • mineral reducing agents;
    • antioxidants that prevent aging.

    Masks should contain only natural fresh fruits.

    To lighten pigmentation, improve complexion and effectively moisturize, you need to mash 4 strawberries, then add a teaspoon of starch and 2 teaspoons of high-fat sour cream. The resulting composition is evenly distributed over the entire face and left for a quarter of an hour. The applied mass is washed off with warm water.

    To get rid of dryness and flaking, you need to grind the melon pulp and mix 2 tablespoons of the pulp with liquid honey and a tablespoon of sour cream. The mixture is applied in a thick layer to the face; the mask should be removed after 15-20 minutes.

    It is important to strictly observe the quantity of ingredients and the optimal time for using homemade masks. But even the most effective one will not replace comprehensive regular skin care.
